About Parrish Payton
My name is Parrish Payton. I am an artist now living in the United Kingdom. I lived on the tiny Mediteranean island of Malta for 5 years. I attended The Maryland Institute College of Art in 1979. At the start of my career I concentrated on oil and pastel painting, mainly landscapes and still lifes. In recent years I have focused more in the area of acrylics, with an emphasis on photo-realism. I hope you enjoy my work.
I started drawing at the age of 5 years old. I have loved creating something interesting on a blank palette or sheet of paper ever since. "Creating" really is the word that best describes my view of artwork. It reminds me of the ultimate Creator. Creating means bringing something from nothing. Of course, only the Almighty can do that in the real sense of the word. Nevertheless, as artists we create in the sense of producing an image of something, from nothing, on a blank sheet or palette. It is a true labor of love. A gift. And after all, there truly is more happiness in giving than receiving. I am truly happy to give you the creations that I produce. Enjoy!
